River Valley has oh about a kazillion years of experience between all of our staff. The reason is simple, families love to have their loved ones here at River Valley and it certainly is no coincidence that anyone in the skilled nursing field ALSO wants to be here at River Valley! Just like our waiting list to enter River Valley as a resident, many of the people that want to work here also have to wait until there is an opening.

Ken Urlage – Administrator
Ken literally grew up around skilled nursing facilities. His family has been in the business for years. Ken is one of the most respected and called upon administrators in the State of Kentucky. He is active in the KAHCF (The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities). He is a past recipient of the prestigious “Administrator of the Year” award. He has been in the long term care business since 1964! Ken is married to Deb and has 2 daughters and 1 son. Ken’s hobbies are: Golf, Jogging, Wally Ball and Sports. Ken is a former Marine and served his country proudly in Vietnam.

Truly Pennington – Director of Nursing
Truly Pennington became the Director of Nursing May 1st, 2010. She started out as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed caring for the elderly so much that she decided to continue her education. Truly became a medication aid and from there went on to become an LPN. In 2008 she became an RN and is currently looking forward to receiving her BSN from Indiana Wesleyan University in November of of this year. She has both long term and acute care setting experience, but she has always preferred long term care. Truly enjoys working with the elderly. She finds it fulfilling when someone gets better and returns to their home. Truly has worked at River Valley almost six years and says she has loved every day of it. Robin Mulloy – Social Service Admissions Director
River Valley Nursing Home is located in the same small town where I have lived all my life. I have been involved with long term care services since 1980. Today the services I provide for the residents is very important and personally fulfilling for me. I find joy in building friendships and personal relationships with our resident, their families and our staff members. Being able to answer questions and offer support and encouragement is expecially gratifying. Robin has been the Social Service Admissions Director since 1992. Carol Hurst – Dietary Manager
Carol has been involved with long term are since 1982. She has lived in Pendleton Co. all of her life. She has been Dietary Manager since 1982. Carol is married to David and has one son, one daughter and one grand-daughter. She has won an Honorable Mention award for Dietary Services from the KAHCF (The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities). Carol enjoys reading, cooking (of course!!), collecting cook books and dolls as well as quilting.

Nancy Barger – Housekeeping/Laundry Manager
Nancy has been involved with long term care since 1993. She has lived in Pendleton Co. all of her life. She has been manager of Housekeeping/Laundry since 2006. She is married to Demera and has one son, two daughters and has five grand-kids. Her hobbies include crocheting, reading and gardening.

Donna Thacker – Business Office Manager
Donna has been involved in long term care since 1983. She has lived in Pendleton Co. all of her adult life. She has been Business Office Manager since 1983. She is married to Jim and has 1 son, 3 daughters and has 6 grand-kids. Donna enjoys singing gospel music with her family, being involved with the Butler Methodist Women’s group, crocheting and reading.
